Africa

And so the day has arrived. All the excitement and anticipation is ahead. Without question there will be swings in the pendulum - I cannot even imagine what this experience is going to be like for me. I love leaping without expectations.

My last conversation with Suzanne was about Africa - she was so excited about my going - I was going to visit her as soon as I returned...we would watch "Out of Africa" again together, I would share stories, we would repeat our "channeling Meryl Streep" scene washing her hair on the porch — she would close her eyes and dream of a day when she would be healthy enough to go... Whatever I have come to believe through this journey these past months - I know with out doubt there is an angel on my shoulder today and she will be joining me on this voyage... my heart overjoyed with the possibilities that will unfold - I will listen, I will pay attention, my eyes and my ears are alert for there will be a special guild showing me the way.

This trip is dedicated to the memory of Suzanne Marquis

and a super big "Thank You" to my fabulous husband and kids because with out you this would not be possible - my strength and my purpose - I want to do more and be more because of you
all my love xoxoxo

Bouquet to Art

Well, it's been a year since I started this blog . Inspired by the Bouquet to Art at the SF DeYoung Museum last spring I created "Blossomings" . It's been a very difficult year — tuning 50 with several of my nearest and dearest friends and family close by and sharing many good moments along the way-the goal was to finish off the year with my "50 in the bucket" — think I far exceeded that...bringing those I love closer in the fold of my embrace had its moments of joy, bliss, disappointment and sorrow — sometimes in the same breath. So here's the new inspiration from 2010 show...

Zumi Inspiration

my camera continues to inspire me — the imagines that fall away in front of my lens reveal a moment, capture a memory and remind me there is beauty in everything - even when all the details of life rush forward to expose a different story .
