Bee Balm

                                            originally uploaded by pegough.

my brown eyes gaze

bee balm, busy bees, berries, Blue...busting out the hibiscus, beautiful phlox...if only I could remember the name of the brilliant trees that are bringing on the most magnificent bouquet of colors...but the hollyhocks have been the stars this year — reaching for the crisp blue skies which have brought the summer breeze without fail all summer long promptly at two!

oh and the refreshing beverages served in Baccarat!!!

S Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe

History overwhelms you here...
breathtaking day on the mountain , just a hint of fog, gentle breeze, crystal clear views - apparently quite rare- I find a spot to sit quite and reflect with the Cape of Good Hope looming in the distance ... This is an amazing country . I have fallen in love. I can see and feel why people are so passionate here. I can not even begin to understand the complexities. Blossom Cape Town photos:

Safari was beyond words and I think may take many months to unfold before I can begin to describe the experience. Botswana is "blossoming" as a country aspiring to all that Africa can become given a task, a dream to realize and people who believe in the possibilities. Zimbabwe still suffers from a corrupt dictator who believes in controlling everything and leaving nothing for the people except bitterness and want for shelter and food...sad how contrasting neighbors can be...

Africa

And so the day has arrived. All the excitement and anticipation is ahead. Without question there will be swings in the pendulum - I cannot even imagine what this experience is going to be like for me. I love leaping without expectations.

My last conversation with Suzanne was about Africa - she was so excited about my going - I was going to visit her as soon as I returned...we would watch "Out of Africa" again together, I would share stories, we would repeat our "channeling Meryl Streep" scene washing her hair on the porch — she would close her eyes and dream of a day when she would be healthy enough to go... Whatever I have come to believe through this journey these past months - I know with out doubt there is an angel on my shoulder today and she will be joining me on this voyage... my heart overjoyed with the possibilities that will unfold - I will listen, I will pay attention, my eyes and my ears are alert for there will be a special guild showing me the way.

This trip is dedicated to the memory of Suzanne Marquis

and a super big "Thank You" to my fabulous husband and kids because with out you this would not be possible - my strength and my purpose - I want to do more and be more because of you
all my love xoxoxo

Bouquet to Art

Well, it's been a year since I started this blog . Inspired by the Bouquet to Art at the SF DeYoung Museum last spring I created "Blossomings" . It's been a very difficult year — tuning 50 with several of my nearest and dearest friends and family close by and sharing many good moments along the way-the goal was to finish off the year with my "50 in the bucket" — think I far exceeded that...bringing those I love closer in the fold of my embrace had its moments of joy, bliss, disappointment and sorrow — sometimes in the same breath. So here's the new inspiration from 2010 show...
